Education worldwide

Internationality at the HSD

International students at the HSD

The world is growing closer together – these words best describe the global developments of recent decades. In the field of education in particular, there are numerous points of contact across national borders, and the barriers to studying abroad have been drastically reduced. As an open and diverse university, we actively seek exchange with international students in order to make education possible worldwide.

In order to study at HSD Hochschule Döpfer, you must have a recognised university entrance qualification. This means that a school leaving certificate obtained abroad that qualifies you to study must first be recognised by the State Education Authority of the State of Brandenburg.

Further information on this can be found here.

Do you need an initial assessment of your school leaving certificate? Then take a look at the database "anabin – The information portal on foreign educational qualifications" and find out more without obligation.

At HSD Hochschule Döpfer, most degree programmes are offered in German. For admission, proof of German language proficiency at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is therefore required.

For English-language degree programmes, proof of language proficiency at level B2 is also required – in English, of course.

The relevant language certificate must be submitted at the latest upon enrolment. In justified exceptional cases, provisional admission may be granted, in which case the certificate must be submitted within six months.

Information on recognised language tests can be found at the German Rectors' Conference and in the framework regulations for German language tests for studying at German universities.

Even though many obstacles have been removed thanks to the increasing internationalisation of teaching and research, there are still formal requirements that must be met in order to study in Germany. These include visa requirements, a blocked account, health insurance and a residence permit.
