A hub for music, a television capital, home to Germany’s largest university – as is often noted about Cologne, with its high concentration of universities and large student population – and the ‘fifth season’ – Cologne has plenty to offer everyone. Numerous up-and-coming designers, architects and restaurateurs have made their home in this city on the Rhine.
And right in the heart of it all, at Waidmarkt 3 and 9, you’ll find the private Döpfer University of Applied Sciences, which has been there since 2014.
And outside of your studies?
Trendy cafés and stylish shops invite you to explore; immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere or simply enjoy the relaxed ambience, for example on the nearby Rhine promenade.
An empty stomach isn’t much use for studying! That’s why our students can enjoy discounted meals at the nearby Café Goldjunge, just a stone’s throw from the HSD’s Cologne campus! Show your student ID at the café to get a 10% discount.
Please note: At Café Goldjunge, takeaway is the only option; there is no dining in.
Cologne is a lively student city. It’s easy to meet new people here. Did you know that currently around one in every 14 people in Cologne is a student? But Cologne doesn’t just offer a huge range of educational opportunities; it also provides plenty of options for leisure activities.
