Tuition fees for degree and certificate programmes at HSD Hochschule Döpfer are quoted exclusive of VAT, as these are educational services which are exempt from VAT under Section 4(21) of the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG). This means that, as a general rule, no VAT is added to these tuition fees.
It is important for students and applicants to note that the fees shown should therefore not be regarded as net prices to which VAT is added. The fees relate to a VAT-exempt educational service. However, details may vary depending on the programme and the contractual basis.

Yes, in principle, your employer may cover all or part of your tuition fees if they wish to support you in your further academic studies. However, whether they can cover these costs depends on your employer’s decision and their internal policies.
Employer funding can be particularly beneficial if your course of study is relevant to your current or planned career. In many cases, it is worth discussing your goals, the benefits, the timetable and possible arrangements with your employer at an early stage. Questions regarding repayment arrangements, time off work or training budgets may also be relevant in this context.

Our tuition fees are quoted as a total amount, which can be paid either monthly or by the semester. As a rule, we debit the tuition fees from your account on a monthly basis, always at the start of the month. We also offer various discounts.
There are no additional costs for learning materials. Our students receive all course and lecture materials via our online learning platform or our e-library.
If you continue your studies at HSD Hochschule Döpfer beyond the standard period of study (excluding approved leave of absence semesters), extension fees will generally apply. These amount to €250 per month (€1,500 per semester) in the Department of Health and Social Sciences and €300 per month (€1,800 per semester) in the Department of Psychology.
There are, however, exceptions: for online Master’s programmes delivered via distance learning, the first six semesters of an extension are free of charge; fees are only charged from the seventh semester onwards. In the ‘M.Sc. in Sport Psychology’ programme, an extension of up to three semesters is even possible free of charge. Furthermore, in special cases (e.g. under hardship provisions), individual arrangements may be made.
