As a clinical supervisor, you will gradually introduce trainees to the tasks of their respective specialist fields and support them in their learning process. Organisation and structure
The higher education certificate in ‘Practical Supervision in the Therapeutic Professions’ is a continuing professional development programme in vocational education designed to enable individuals to work as practical supervisors in therapeutic professions such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. You will supervise trainees during their practical placements and define work processes and tasks in accordance with the education plan. You will also observe, assess and provide feedback on the trainees’ performance of their tasks.
The certificate programme is designed as a hybrid course. Weekend face-to-face sessions are supplemented by online learning modules in the form of virtual sessions and comprehensive learning materials. This enables flexible learning and helps you to balance your career with your further training as effectively as possible. Furthermore, you can transfer the content of the certificate as credits towards a degree in Applied Therapeutic Sciences or Medical Education at HSD Hochschule Döpfer University of Applied Sciences.
The certificate is aimed at professionals in the medical and therapeutic fields of occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and physiotherapy. To be eligible for the university certificate, you must have completed vocational training and have at least two years’ professional experience in one of the following areas:
- Occupational therapy
- Speech and language therapy
- Physiotherapy

The modules are divided into digital learning units and face-to-face sessions at the study location. The face-to-face sessions take place at weekends. As part of the digital learning units, participants attend online sessions which take place in the evenings. These are supplemented by self-study periods, during which participants have access to various materials such as text documents, videos and presentations.

,800. This includes participation in all sessions, access to the comprehensive seminar materials, the examination fee and support from experienced university lecturers.
Upon request, the costs can be split into six instalments of €300 each.
